IT helps provide equal opportunities for all children.
- Technology is fascinating to explore. What is this? What does it do? How does it work? Adults take opportunities to talk about safe use of technology and explain the equipment they are playing with is old and doesn't work any more.
- Some technology enhances toys. This train includes some bricks that have sound effects. Sometimes these encourage children into collaborative play as they work out how they work and what they can do; sometimes they add to a child's imaginative play.
- Technology surrounds children in their homes and cooking is a major part of this. Here a child is able to try out equipment for himself and talk through what the machine does, how it might be working and to make connections with where he has seen these before, if he has.
- Technology can motivate. Here a music mat encourages children to jump, skip and hop.
- This boy laughs with delight as he makes the Bee-Bot move across his construction.
